Mondeo estate is a reasonable low cost option. I had a mkiii 140 TDCi and it was surprisingly good.
Until I drove it through a flood and that was the end of it.

Interested in a 03 MK3 mondeo estate?
I've been using one that I bought for a trip to France as the c5 estate I bought got driven into a seriously bent, so hunted out the best mechanically. The journey will done next week. Good tyres, two or three month MOT, has a few dents and scrapes. Has had a new water pump as it was fucked and the replacement pump has had the proper gaskets. Full service and all the electrics work and even the air con.

Volvo heads - some help please?
What should I look for in an early noughties V70? What's around for a budget of £800 (max.) Areas of rust, mechanical issues etc?
Are there alternatives? (it's for a friend and she needs an estate but I'm thinking an Octavia would be better value.)
