From what I understood the spacers are only for wide axles or smaller shells, and it's not advised to use them.

That's with no spacers on the non drive side too? The spacing isn't determined by the drive side cup

That's not right. Should be no spacers at all, and cups flush to frame with a solid 4mm between stay and spider. I'm running a 50t ring with plenty of space for bigger.
Try different crank if you have access to or send back to Dolan.@TomvanHalen between the BB and spider? If so, that's normal. If I remember on another thread, Tester might have said that the DS is machined to stop at a certain point as not to compress the bearings, leaving a little space between spider and bb.

Omniums are GXP, right? Surely removing the NDS BB spacer will push the crank over to the right and give you more chainstay clearance?
