There is chatter and photos of tyre clearance a few pages back..........
I went through it myself as i was looking to get a roller.
38mm will just fit.
35mm would be better.
30-32mm cx tyres if it's wet.
Your asking it do something that maybe a crosscheck would be a better buy for you. It's a comprimise on mud clearance in the calipers and tyre size, if you think you need the bigger or up to 45mm then look into a Crosscheck. Many have gone offroad and even raced CX on Rollers you just have to live with road bias frame limitations.
