Did you just had a conversation with yourself?

Hah I just meant "that's a great tune" in that youth slang they have nowadays ;)

That was a last resort.

Serves you right for being greedy with those gold medals.

Another Cheshire chap?

Heh yeah. I think we've chatted about this before (under my old username). You're from Northwich?

What's the deal with skip-tooth chain rings? Less friction I guess, are there any other advantages? Why was the concept abandoned?

Old chains, innit

ahaaaa :) thanks!

Less friction
Block chain has more friction than roller chain, that's why we switched. Wippermann make a bike-sized 1" pitch roller chain which might be fun to experiment with, but chordal action would be pretty bad on a 7.5 tooth sprocket.

That pitch roller chain looks monstrous like a small motorbike's chain. Initially I thought that they used roller chains in combination with skip tooth chainrings in order to reduce friction and save weight. I thought that the idea behind it was that you could just get rid of half the teeth since you have a straigth chainline on track bikes anyway.

Motorcycle chain is usually 5/8 or 3/4, and 1" industrial chain is huge, but Wippermann make a double pitch chain with the same roller width and diameter as 1/2"x1/8" track chain

what is the typical field of application for such a double chain? These things...?

Dunno. It would work well where you want the force capacity of a single pitch chain of the same roller size with lighter weight, for 1:1 motion translation where you could clock the sprockets to eliminate the chordal action. Synchronisation chain on a tandem would be an obvious cycling example.

Odd question anyone know what type of screwdriver I would need for this screw?

One that fits.

Anyone used Spesh Power saddle for long (200+km) distances?
Not sure what you meant there, but I've loved that album since it came out and wondered what the song title referred to.
