  • That pitch roller chain looks monstrous like a small motorbike's chain. Initially I thought that they used roller chains in combination with skip tooth chainrings in order to reduce friction and save weight. I thought that the idea behind it was that you could just get rid of half the teeth since you have a straigth chainline on track bikes anyway.

  • Motorcycle chain is usually 5/8 or 3/4, and 1" industrial chain is huge, but Wippermann make a double pitch chain with the same roller width and diameter as 1/2"x1/8" track chain
