BMW saloons have generally been better handling cars than contemporary Audi saloons often Alfas and Mercs have too.
The TT never really drove any better than its Golf donor. You can get brutally quick TTs now, but Porsche, BMW, Alfa, Lotus etc etc sports cars are all much more tactile to steer around.
Big mile munching load lugging estates like the RS6 have generally been the only Audis I can understand anyone buying.
'Council estate Skodas' someone once called them. I would never use such a term, some of my best friends are council estates etc, but I understand the sentiment.
They're cars for people who put image above anything else. This is not a bad thing. I like Nike trainers and pay £40 for my haircut so I'm arguably the same.
As I said, the R8 is supposed to be good, though I've not driven one. Everything else is meh. Or more accurately, the competition were always ahead on the steering and handling front.
