  • does anyone know if the shorts are going to be reduced again, lucky for me they still have all the large sizes!

  • I drove past the Rapha Archive store in Shepton Mallet yesterday without stopping.

    My Rapha game is weak.

  • You could have popped in for an up to date code, yours expires soon doesn't it?

  • Anyone knows when the saddle bag will be coming back into stock?

  • The Archive Store should be renamed 'Rapha, nice but a bit pricier than the sale on the website and with all your full price perks removed'.

I now live a few miles away having moved last week... DANGER.

  • Popped into Kilver Court yesterday, which was definitely "on my way" along the A303. Much more comprehensive selection than I was expecting. Some good deals on bibs and fair range of sizes.

  • Went camping in Somerset last week, so went into to Kilver Court last week, happy with the Kilver bib shorts, nice but not so pricey.

  • Can the next person going to Kilver see if they have any Wind jackets?

    TIA

  • Might be going tomorrow. What size?

  • The CANYON/SRAM core jersey has just appeared on Canyon's website and is oddly a bit cheaper.

  • Considering buying a jacket in the sale - opinions on the Rain, Wind and Pack jackets for something I can put in a jersey pocket and put on if too cold/wet ?

Also considering the Pro Team softshell for winter, anyone got one ?

  • Wind jacket is a valuable addition to your kit list.

  • Wind jacket is decent. Most of my riding last winter was PT Jacket or classic softshell if it was wet.

  • I remember reading G's autobiography and him saying that the Rapha Rain Jacket is the best bit of cycling kit he's ever owned. No experience of it myself though!

  • Out of the ones you listed I've only used the Wind Jacket, but would thoroughly recommend. Really versatile.

Well thought out. Packs into a jersey pocket (with practice). Takes the edge off the cool without getting too hot. Will fend off a bit of rain, stops you getting too cold in a down pour.

The only fault I have is that once zipped up you can't access your jersey pockets.

Fwiw I run quite hot. Plus I'm sceptical about rain jackets. Even the best intentioned get a bit sweaty for high intensity stuff like cycling or running. If its proper rain you're getting wet so why bother? If it's light/intermittent you'll dry off.

  • This. Wind jacket for 'unknown' spring/summer/autumn rides where there might be a bit of rain. I tend to take mine on 3+ hour rides unless it's guaranteed to be sunny and hot all day. They're also great for standing around or if there's a mechanical.

Use a Gabba if it's meant to piss down. Winter is Pro team jacket/softshell/Gabba depending on the weather.

  • Obvs it depends where you live and how you ride, but with arm warmers and a decent baselayer IMO you can also use it for a lot of the winter in the SE of England. Especially those sunny clear days when it starts cold but ends up in the high teens.

Also I took mine touring through France / Spain.

Along with a decent set of bibs, I genuinely would class it as an "essential". Plus I'm not aware of anyone else doing something similar that is so on point.

    Basically #massivefan

  • @MicroDosed™ We have a pretty good selection of wind jackets. Sage green, black, and yellow in your size at the moment, feel free to give us a ring before popping in and check what we've got, we can put things aside for a couple of days no problem.

  • Pack jacket is what I wear 90% of the time (mostly off bike). Its great. So is wind jacket (on bike).

  • Thank you, will schedule a visit this week

  • Thanks all. Typically, the wind jacket has now sold out in the sale.

  • winter in the SE of England. ....ends up in the high teens.

    wah? where you living?

  • Shelled out on a Classic Jersey II after several years hard service from my original, absolutely brilliant piece of kit

  • I stand corrected, delivery was quick this time.
