By the by - I disagree totes with this. The 750 has been wicked since the very first SRAD. As a road bike it got even better after supers switched to 1000s - much longer stroke motor tuned for the road. Way more flexible than a 600 and a boat load quicker.
A (very) well set up first gen FI 750 proddie racer is still probably the best track bike I've ridden. Fast but you could still get after it and the sweetest steering imaginable.

I have to disagree with you.
Having ridden a few gsxr 6 and 75 and 1000 back to back and a few of the k series and they got easier to ride, out of the box, as they became more modern. But to me there were never that great unless the suspension was properly set up... Engine wise a well set up 1000 will run rings around a well set up 750. By well set up I mean balance power through the rev range not all top end.
Gsxr 750 is a bit of meh bike, either a decent 6 or go for the 1000.
