    Plan is for a real do it all - a big tyre, hydro disc, mudguard winter bike with the ability to carry a bit of luggage if needed, or stick on knobblies and do some of that trendy gravel grinding.

    With Campag yet to really produce anything disc brake related it'll be a walk on the wild side (Shimano), probably Ultegra level STIs with Tiagra everything else to keep the cost down. Some kind of cheap disc wheelset, leftover finishing kit and GB mudguards. Won't be light!

  • Are the mechs not 'dumb'? Always used to be that way with shimano mtb (haven't ever paid attention to Shimano road)
