  • Should Vittoria Open Corsa Graphene 23C be suitable for slightly gritty roads and wet weather? Rode with friend through the rain on Saturday around Surrey Hills. He got two rear punctures from tiny sharp pieces of gravel but on the third time in the first 15K the tube exploded and tore through the tyre - I had to go buy him a Conti 4 season so we could complete the ride. He's 77KG. They feel pretty thin and soft - is this normal or bad luck? We do think he might have been over-inflating due to dodgy gauge on pump.

  • I've had mine for about.. 1500-2000 miles maybe and they've started to wear pretty badly. The rear will definitely need replacing soon as it's flatted twice in two weeks for the first time. They are amazing tyres, particularly at 50-55 psi on 25mm rims (25c tyres), but the wear rate is as bad as I'd heard. Having said that, I've ridden them in pretty appalling conditions like 25 miles of gravel/rock road at the start of the coast to coast without issues, other than the sidewalls becoming a bit scuffed.

Probably moving back to GP4000s/One/Pro 4 Endurance (as we're going into autumn).

  • 23mm is way too small for Surreys.
