That's pretty ordinary as well. The CP forum is full of members' bikes who've achieved better results using older steel frames with modern gruppos, than this slightly unimaginative modern build.
At least when they chopped the seat tube off the other bike they were trying to do something interesting.

Well, you're absolutely right. The real question would be: why would the bike be displayed at a show when it so obviously looks shit. 650c wheels might be worth considering if one's vertically challenged like that...
And to answer my own question: ... to Showcase what's technically possible if looks don't play a role
