N.b. good things I've heard are that a lot of tech has trickled down from DA/105/Ultegra to 2016 4700 Tiagra. But although Shimano have updated everything else, it's still 10 speed.
Is this bad? Would the group be more future proof if it went to 11?
Just put 4700 on my partner's bike.
It's better than my 105 5700 for sure, though I imagine the difference with 105 5800 is minimal.
Very minimal to the point I didn't realised the test bike I've been riding is actually Tiagra, not 105.
And most definitely better than 5700 by a long shot, even 6700 felt sloppy in comparison.
