So after my bag got nicked with all my cycling gear I decided to go for the hyped Oakley from aliexpress, (All white with purple lens, plus the other lenses)
Going to wait for 20-40 days apparently
Quick question, but did anyone get hit by any import tax by parcel force/royal mail?

I'm increasingly tempted to get a set of these or the FAUXdarlock. I need a prescription though and I'm wondering whether the inserts are any food for side visibility (i.e. the point in having wraparounds). @spotter did you say you use them with the insert?
(And I've never paid duty on anything from aliexpress, but they've normally been small items)
Lenses sure are reflective on these ones.

How do you find stuff on aliexpress I'm now looking for a matching Thomson stem to match the post.
Matching is important. -

Never been stung by tax on stuff from aliexpress.
I took delivery of my EVZeros last week. They are very very light. I'm going to try and weigh them this week, and generally compare them to a genuine pair. From a quick once over, the hinge is a bit stiffer, generally the finishing isn't as good and the lenses (as with all my fauxkleys) just don't seem quite as good. Not bad for ~$15 though.

Do these Wei-dar lenses fit nicely into genuine Radar frames? The reflective coating on my 5 year-old pair is slowly starting to come away.
-
• #4762
The question being which kind or Radar you got?
Learned that when I misplaced mine for a bit in winter to a degree of I need new lenses.

Misplaced the summer lenses that was.

Not Radarlock, that's all I know. I'll take a pic

Mine is already on it's way! Dang they're fast! Let's hope the quality won't be too much of a let down...

• #4770
Ah, thanks. Did you get them glazed?
-
• #4771
oakley dont have prescription insert, they have prescription lenses which are mad pricey .. thats the reason I went Bloc ( thanks to @roboto ) .. 4 lenses + prescription insert for £75 and the quality is top notch .. UK based company too. They glazed it for me for a tenner after emailing my prescription.
10/10

Cheers. Prescription inserts seem like a bit of a faff. Maybe I should just overcome my fear of contact lenses. I have some of the free specsaver sample ones upstairs right now, I just hate getting them in/out so much.

I've done both, contacts and insert. Inserts are more comfortable and cheaper.
For faffing about in town I have got Rapha Classics II glazed, fucking amazing! Esp with a helmet. Kinda tempted to get another pair and get prescription shades in them ..

Broke before I could, a you say, just get contacts, the field of vision is worlds better.

How heavy is the prescription insert in the Bloc? My prescription isn't mega strong but I do have quite bad astigmatism so I think I need weird lenses. I currently have some prescription wayfarers which are absolutely fine, but I do feel like a bit of a plum wearing them at the track.
I'm going to have to give contacts a go, if they work for so many other people then I think the problem lies with me...
This may be in the wrong thread, but that has saved me jizzing money on lizardskins so thank you.
