Yes, the handbars are the only part that I don't like.

Track bike are aggressive in nature, just fit some flat bar on/flip stem upside down.
They're also quite long compare to normal bike so you might want a shorter stem, maybe.
-

If you're at the limit of your steerer and stem flippage, you could always a)replace the stem with one with a steeper angle (although this may look a bit lame) or b) replace the drop bar with a flat TT base bar type like a Profile Airwing, these often come in either a 40mm drop or totally flat.

I'm thinking to buy a flat bars together with Esaki order, but just want to ask is there a polished alluminum or just a gray paint on Esaki paintjob ?
Think this going to match Esaki paintjob ? http://www.wiggle.co.uk/ritchey-classic-flat-mtb-handlebar/
http://brotures.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/IMG_45091.jpg
Thanks again!

It's an odd one. It's painted silver, but a very thin coat of paint under thick lacquer that practically looks like polished alu. The only reason I clocked it was a bit of underspray around the dropout.
I was looking at those exact bars for mine, so I'd say they'll match well. If they're not perfect with the rear-end, they'll at least match the Omniums bang on. -
• #59
So mine has arrived! I went for the 54cm frame (I'm 178cm (just under 5'10")) and the fit is great! I ditched the stock track bars and put on a Profile Airwing from my Pompino.
The bike is lovely! It's comfy and stiff. I was worried it might feel harsh after the steel Pompino but I needn't have worried, you can feel slightly more of the road but not in a bad way.

Tyres make the biggest difference, as long you don't go overboard with the pressure, a track bike can be made as comfortable as a touring bike (bar tyres clearance of course).
-
• #61
The stock tyres are 23mm Contis and I planned to swap to 25's but there's no need! Fizik saddle and Odi longneck xl grips both help in the comfort department I think!

Hi! Is your Esaki still going strong? Hope so!
I've read you ordered size 56, I'm a bit taller than you (1.83 m - 6'0'' ft), and my saddle height from BB to saddle top is 78 cm... Do you consider size 56 could fit me or I would be better on a 58?
Thanks, best regards! -
• #64
Yeah! I'm still loving it.
I would probably go towards a 58 if I were you. The 56 is spot-on for me at 5'10, so I'd imagine you'd have a lot more seatpost out if you were on the same.
I've tweaked my cockpit a little bit since getting it (Thomson inline post, shorter Thomson stem, Deda RHM01 bars) just to suit my riding style, but being a bit taller than me, you'll probably get on with the stock reach too. Here's mine in its current form.
-
• #65
Thanks! Looking at the geo, I also think that size 56 could be too low on the head tube, leading to a huge saddle-to-bar drop... So maybe I'll go for the 58 soon!
Nice bike, I love the decals on the top tube, and the full black saddle looks good too!

I found a crack at the top of one of the fork legs the other day! Only been out 3 times so assuming it was there from day 1. Hard to see if it's just paint or structural so I have dropped it back to Wiggle today! I love the bike but this is very annoying! In answer to a previous question, I have found the 54cm perfect for me. I have changed the stem to a 90mm one which means I've changed the reach by 20mm from stock. I'm hoping to do fairly long rides on it so I want it to be comfortable.
Fingers crossed I get an uncracked bike back soon! -

My advice on sizing would be look measure a current bike that fits you and compare those measurements to the sizing chart on Wiggle. The guide said I should go 56 but I think it would have been too stretched out. Keep in mind the Ondrakguy has brought his saddle forward with an inline post and shortened his stem.
-
• #68
Ahh that sucks - have you taken a photo of it? I'll be keeping an eye on mine now.

Saw this on wiggle and just had to go for it at the under £500 price point for the spec I just couldn't resist.
Had it since 19\07\16 so a month in and all I can say is wow!! I got a 52cm being a short troll of a man and it's perfect, geometry is pretty tight but I like it. The whole bike is just super stiff and twitchy perfect for the street. Combined with the omnium's and the sealed halo wheels the thing is smooth!!!
Out of the box just added my old brake and some straps from my steel commuter and off we go. Only thing I will change is stem \ bars. Being short I might go for a 80mm reach and some compact drops otherwise I'll leave it as is.
Overall this thing rocks like I have seen mentioned if this bike had any other name it would be £800+ wasn't expecting much from the frameset but the thing is solid and good craftsmanship throughot.
If you get a chance don't hesitate!
John.

Congrats on your purchase John! It is indeed a great bike. I got a replacement bike sent out but it had exactly the same fork issue as the first one! I've been give a voucher to cover it as it was just a cosmetic finishing issue. I have ordered a new PX fork anyway. I took the Eastway one out, turns out it is 100% Alu and weighs 712g!
I am waiting on a few bits but hopefully will be taking the bike across France in 3 weeks, roughly following the line of the Western Front from the Swiss/French border up to the Channel. Can't wait! Just hope the bike is ready in time!
PS. Since my fork issue has come up, the Esaki has been taken off the website so we might have a very rare bike now!
Happy pedalling... -

Well blimey! Sorry to hear about your fork issue. Mine seems to be fine although I've had a closer eye on it since your first post about your problems. I'm surprised to learn about the weight too - I could've sworn the listing on Wiggle said carbon/alu! I'm tempted to swap out for something as a preventative/lightening measure now.
Mine seems to be problem-free right now. There's a bloody annoying click coming from somewhere - but after swapping the BB out, it appears to be the pedals (don't get Genetic Track pedals).
Good luck on your France trip! Keep us posted!

Thanks man,
I need to check the forks didn't inspect them since I had it. Maybe I'll swap them out for some carbon but I don't want to ruin the aesthetics haha.
Enjoy the ride man sounds good, what gearing you doing it on?

Did anyone get to the bottom of whether the fork was meant to be carbon or not? Really tempted by one of these to use at Herne Hill.
