How to charge an IPhone on tour

  • We ride Dawes Super Galaxies and plan to tour in USA for two months next year. Which hub drive charger with usb outlets will we need? At what cost? Thanks in advance.

  • If you aren't after lights as well then your best bet is probably the Igaro D1 (the guy who's developed this is on the forum - @acharnley) with a Shutter Precision hub dynamo. That'll be about £250, £100 for the Igaro and £150 for the dynamo built into a wheel.
If you want to find out more you're really wanting to post in the [dynamos][https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/232621/)/[dynamo lights](https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/159454/) threads. There's lots of information there.

  • I can heartily recommend the B&M Luxos U light ... The early versions suffered with water ingress but the newest version is solid.

A very good dynamo light for under 100 quid that includes a USB charger! I used it to keep my iPhone charged on tour.

Seemed like a better option than buying a gizmo AND lights.

  • With the price of super massive portable batteries that are quite small and reasonably priced would that be a more viable option.
I can get 10+ charges out of a cheapie one.
