Orthobullets has quite a bit of information about clavicle fractures. If you've seen and understand your x-Ray's you might know what you'll be in for. You'll find out on Tuesday regardless.

I broke mine about 3yrs ago and have/had all sorts of bother. My advice is move it as little as possible to increase the chance of a clean union. I didn't, I don't mean I was overly active, but moved around too much. After a malunion I eventually had to have it reset with pins/plate. Just about to have these removed as they're causing pain. So as I say, be as immobile as poss with it, be patient and give it a chance to bond before starting any movement. Hope it heals well.

Cheers. I'm doing my best to keep the arm immobilised.

Back to the clinic in 6 weeks to see if it's healed itself. Back to work tomorrow.

Was having problems with the fracture, and a bit of a winged scapula. Got my 6wk follow up moved forward to Tuesday where it was decided to operate. Got it all put back to where it should have been and plated yesterday and back home today. Pretty rapid turnaround.
Bloody painful. That's for sure. -

You were lucky - I came off my motorbike and broke mine back in 2009. Didn't heal after 6 weeks, and it then took another 10 months to get scheduled in for surgery. Currently getting physio as I iritated it again falling on a bouncy castle at a stag do! :'(

The consultant said they needed to get me in straight away before it started to properly knit together in the wrong place.
I'm so glad I pushed to get seen earlier than my scheduled 6wk appointment. They had to unknit it as it was after 4.
had an altercation with the tarmac yesterday resulting in a broken clavicle. Got the fracture clinic on Tuesday.
any advice on getting by with this? i'm well versed in lower limb injuries, but this is new ground for me.
