Is that easy to do?

I've no horse in this race. As I said a while ago, I'd not even heard about this game until three weeks or so ago. But what I've seen/read does point to deliberate obfuscation, IMO.

More importantly: Deus Ex. So much on, so not sure it's a good idea to buy it, but...

it's easier to 'turn off' as it's not a key element of the game. You can happily play dark souls with out ever having to go online.
