I think all white (cable, saddle, tape), would look ok on yours as the panto color is white as well

You're first in line if I ever sell :) True, it matches the panto colour but the decals are golden-ish so I thought maybe white saddle and bar tape and golden cables to go with the decals. But I'm not entirely sure, maybe I order both of them to see it in the flesh...

I thought some more about possible saddle bar-tape colours and had the following idea: I always really liked alcantara and wanted to try something new for the Olmo. My plan was to get a scuffed and worn-down selle italia flite and re-cover it with some new alcantara. They sell alcantara pieces of 1x1,45m for 6€ on ebay, so it's really cheap. With this length, I could even cut thin stripes to use it as a bar-tape which would spare me the whole process of finding a bar-tape in the matching colour + I really like the feel of alcantara as it's grippy and absorbs sweat. Now here's the real question: do you guys think the purple alcantara would be too much? I don't feel like going for white even though it would make a nice contrast. Given that the Look pedals that I have for this build are also purple, I kinda like the idea of a matching purple flite and purple bar tape. Do you think it would be too much purple? I'd go for white cables to match the pantos and to give it some contrast. So what do you say, purple or white or even grey? Would love to hear your input!

That paint looks really Klein-esque.

The Olmo's paint is slightly sloppier, but yeah, that's one of the reasons why I was drawn to it :) Gotta love those Klein fades...

The pinarello below has a similar paintjob, too.

Quick mock-up. Tires + Bar & Stem will be changed. The more I think about it, I think I'll just use the black flite and get some black bartape.

Gave the braking surfaces on the front rim a bit of a cleaning. Quite happy with the result, I used some electrical tape to mask the shiny sides of the wheel to prevent them from being scratched while cleaning the braking surfaces.

Good work on cleaning the braking services, looks great. What did you use to clean them?

@PhilDAS I know, the decals would be matchy matchy... I'll keep an eye out for some but for the time being I'll use the Atlantas.
@Jambon cheers, I used alcohol based window cleaner and applied it with the scotchbrite side of a sponge. The masking really helped, without it I think I would have scratched the rim's side walls.

The Olmo is a lovely thing!

Black tape will work fine.

Waiting for the alcantara to wrap the bars. Other than that it's pretty much finished. Please excuse the photo quality, the iphone is having a hard time with dim light. I'll eventually ask my dad or my brother to take some shots with their proper cameras :) Might take a while tho...

Grazie! Mh, initially I was sold on shamals but I'm starting to like the slightly lower profile of the atlantas. Black wheels might look nice as well. We'll see. For now, I'll leave it like that. Wanted to give fixed gear a try so I'm not going to spend a lot more money on this one for the time being.

I took some slightly better photos with better light. Still with an iPhone tho, since I don't have a proper Camera around. Again, when I look at the pictures on my iPhone, the colours is being depicted rather accurately. On my laptop, on the other hand, the pink looks a lot more pale than in real life.
