Looking for some recommendations to replace my 35c Vittoria Randonneur II Tyres. Mostly road riding, with some gravel/canal paths. I've had no problems with p*nct*res, so am minded to replace like for like, just after any other suggestions for something that's lighter/faster.

Kojak

Yes, I have heard this from elsewhere. And they are teh cheapz on CR.

Vittoria Voyager Hypers also worth a look. I have these on one bike and Kojaks on another. Prefer Kojaks for round town but 37c Hypers are extra plush for tow path type riding.

Bought a second hand Velo Orange Pass Hunter. Previous owner says that the frame accommodate 38C tyres. So with this in mind and the plan to the PH is to make it a fast tourer which tyre would you guys recommend (apart from Compass ones, impossible to get them in Portugal)? Slightly inclined to the Nano's or the Kojack's, any other option? I had the gravel kings in 26C and liked them also.

Schwalbe Kojaks for London commuting—yes or no? Basically looking for durability, grip in all weathers, comfort. Any speed gains would be a bonus.

Yes.

Oh good!

Any options for a 30c (awkward size) road tyre for winter?
My frame is 28c max with fenders but I reckon I can happily fit 30c without fenders. 32c would be a real squeeze.

Can't really say about speed gains as that would depend on what you are comparing to but they feel quick.
I'm 88kg and ride 35c Kojaks 55/65 psi which is pretty comfortable.
After 600mi commuting they still look pretty new, couple of small nicks, I'm sure I'll get at least a year out of them.
I've had one puncture but that was when something spikey stuck to my back tyre and I rode over if several times before I could stop - ain't no kind of a tyre that is gonna survive that action...

If it's a winter bike why aren't you using mudguards?
-
• #3567
I was about to post that but spent too long looking for a gif to go with it...
-
• #3569
Fuck that. 28 with mudguard is gonna be literally 1000000x better than 30 with no guard.

S-One

ordered a Ribmo for rear - good reviews

I kinda had dreams of doing some 'light cx' but mud clearance on my frame is nil so gonna be sensible and go with 28c and guards.
What's the difference between the schwalbe one and pro one?
Tempted to give schwalbe a go over my usual conti winter tyres. -
• #3573
I think Pro ones are tubeless only and lighter than regular tubeless ones.
-
• #3574
Ah ok, not running tubeless so will try the standard 'one'.
-
• #3575
The Pro is newer and therefore betterer
Few days late but you can order online to have things delivered to the store with Evans. Should have paid for it on your phone in front of him
