There seems to be so much debate amounts folks about dry vs wet food. I'm so worried about feeding Catface anything with high carb values that I actually have a cat carb calculator on my phone to work out if it is safe to give him. You'd be amazed at how few dry foods, even expensive ones, are suitable. I've only found one on zooplus that is just about OK for him. Out of curiosity, what dry food have you gone for?

I realise cats need fewer carbs than humans but the higher end dry mixes I've used (James Wellbeloved, Hill, Purina) seem to get all the right nutrients in, making wet food a calorific supplement.
It's day two without wet food now. Moses won't leave me alone and is extremely vocal about his disgruntlement. Maia has protested by bringing in a mouse last night and disappearing completely tonight...my resolve is waning!
No, not really for convenience. For their health mainly on the advice of several vets I've consulted and my research. I feed them expensive complete dry food from a self-administering feeder, that isn't high in carbs and unlike @anthonyj's, mine drinks lots so they are actually getting all they need without wet food, which vets I've asked says serves very little purpose and is much worse for their teeth.
It's also easier to keep their weight in check by cutting out wet food.
Mind you, it does feel mean. Today is the first day I haven't relented and they have been moaning about it since 3pm!!!
