Yeah, that bike was specc'd before FM existed.
The way its done is neat, but is problematic. Note how the brake caliper mount is butted up against the seat stay...adjustment is limited.

thanks for the tip. The front doesnt come with spacers for normal QR - but easy enought to buy a (non-tune) adapter for £15

Hope you aren't holding me responsible! ;) haha

So, after all the bullshit setting them up the Shimano flat mount disc brakes were great during the TCR.
110kg system weight, 160mm up front, 140mm in back, resin pad front, metal pads rear.
That is all.
Thanks for the help peeps.

oh no! just assumed they would. no worries
yeah cant decide on 35mm or 45mm deep crabonz
-
• #2184
Was only messin' with you.
I'd go 35mm. more versatile than the 45mm. (In my opinion)
Better for climbing and less crosswind trouble but still with aero gainz. -

I 2nd 35mm

but I feel like if im going bling they should be showy.. but yes the marginal weight loss is attractive

I recently got a cross bike with cable disc brakes. The rear one has started to feel kinda grindy when I slow down quickly with it. It's as if I can feel the holes in the rotor. It's only a couple of weeks old and the pads don't look worn. Is there any obvious reason for it to feel worse now?

What's the caliper and rotor combo? I had exactly the same problem with stock trp rotor. Changed to SRAM centreline and all is well.

Stock Cannondale CAADX ones. Promax Render.

Bin and get decent rotors. Pads play an important part aswell. I find organic ones far less 'grindy'. Or do as @Pete4Eyes said and get the centreline ones. Current favourite.

Be interesting to see how the pads look now.

And Planet X were doing them for £144 for a pair, laced to Major Tom rims. Anyone want a pair of unused Major Tom rims?

After discussion with Marty, I went for flat mount on the frame, and Enve post mount fork. I will run with post mount calipers and adapter on the rear for now, then switch out to a flat mount fork in future as and when one I like becomes available.

Still some life left in one side but the other side was pretty much done. Front, resin, ~5000k, mostly loaded (with me! inbeforehippyisfatjoke)

Jesus christ, you ridden the TCR with the brake misaligned!
-
• #2197
Correction: I rode TCR with the brakes not making any fucking noise.

Yep. A wheelset with black 32H King and Kong hubs, built up with Major Tom rims, for 144 quid. Bargain. Snaffled.
@howard - what have you got on your Talbot? Post mounts right!?
