*"I have to say I expected it to be a bit more "Waaw" than this. Maybe it's because of the "wrong" size (I share @umop3pisdn 's opinion that it looks like you needed a larger frame - and yes, I do happen to know something of bikefitting, classic bikes and riding them in the mountains).
I'm a bit disappointed because for me it looks like you turned a SuperCORSA into a semi-touring bike this way.
But I believe you're happy with the result and that's the most important, no."*
Imagine logging on to a forum and bothering to say this. The mind boggles.

Thanks all. Even the haterz.

Tinkoff? Trump? Blair? You could be onto something......
Senor Bear, I don't think you've had any haterz, just (probably) well-meaning 'how-I-would have-done-it-betterz'. Not their bike, not your problem, they can build their own!

Sorry guys, didn't mean to offend anyone (and definitely not @Señor_Bear ), I probably would have expressed myself in a better way in my mother tongue (less offending, I guess). I definitely don't "hate" this bike, on the contrary (I'm building a Supercorsa myself, albeit a 1996 frame). I was following this because I was in doubt how to finish mine: period correct or modern. I was/am "disappointed" because I see the Supercorsa as a real "Super Corsa" bike (= a racemachine with an agressive geometry) and I didn't find that in this bike (only because of the imo "strange" seatpost and stem position).

Campag is total dog shit.
I visited the Vatican today and the Pope agrees.
-
• #135
Why is is strange? I can't make my arms any longer or my legs any shorter so slamming the stem would just mean sitting on my bollocks for the duration of a ride.
That seems a stranger decision.

No pain no gain

• #137
It looked strange because stem height and seatpost length would suggest needing a larger frame. But if it fits you best this way, than this way it should be. Form and function, you know.

The black seat and tape on my Cinelli SuperCorsa (see post #22) was a nod to the color scheme of the famous Cinelli Laser Pursuit Pista bike of the 1980's. In fact, you can buy a picture of one on a t-shirt at this web site - http://www.wingedstore.com/t-shirts/laser-38.html Also, the Laser bike is on the cover of a book about the history of Cinelli - https://www.amazon.com/Cinelli-Bicycle-Lodovico-Pignatti-Morano/dp/0847838676 In addition, there was a re-release of the Laser in this color scheme by Cinelli in a limited run in 2012 - https://cyclepista.wordpress.com/2011/09/08/2012-cinelli-laser-track-bike/

Entertaining thread to read, mainly due to the comments. Bike looks good to me, don't see the problem. But then again I'm a newb. How does it ride?
-
• #141
by turning the pedals with your feet, and steering via leaning or using the handlebars

My bike was shown in post #22 on the first page of this thread, and it rides great. The Cinelli SuperCorsa is the oldest bike frame in continuous production and is a classic. The bike shown above in post #138 was a limited run 2012 re-release of the Cinelli Laser track bike and is not mine. If you would like to see other pictures of my bike, here is the link - https://www.flickr.com/photos/76452700@N05/ If you click on a picture, you can see a component list for the bike. The particular drivetrain that I chose for my SuperCorsa was so I could get the lower gearing that I needed because of my age and the hills in my area. In my opinion, right now the best looking drivetrain for a vintage type steel bike is the Campagnolo Athena 11-speed group in silver aluminum finish. That drivetrain can be seen on my Mercian bike on the same web page as my Cinelli.

It looks good to me. If you can drop the stem that would be a bot more aero but you also have to be comfortable. There is nothing slower than an uncomfortable rider.
Looks good , how do you like the ride ?
good friend of mine rode the CCC Cantabrico last year
