  • Well this is sure to bias her results towards car enthusiasts.

  • It's funny because it's true. My 914 has 5 spoke Fuchs, probs would have been delivered on steelies and my bus has faekenger gas burners.

  • DON'T DO IT!!

Coupe is the only version to have. Never understood the attraction of a 911 cab and the targa version always seemed a bit mixed up. I like the look of the 991 targa which they've styled to make it look like an early Targa but I'd never own one.

  • This.

Except the 991 Targa is blatantly the best 991.

The 993 & 996 Targas have fat roof pillars so don't feel like open cars at all but wobble like open cars. Get a cab or a coupe, the targa is neither goose nor famine.

  • I saw one of those Bentley SUVs today.
The only way they are going to look good is if someone actually drives one across Africa or somewhere, and it ends up battered to fuck and covered in mud. I wonder if they make a roof tent to fit them...

  • Nope. Never going to look good...

  • Must be an easy life as the designer of an SUV/Crossover at a marque like Porsche or Bentley. They've just taken a Continental and pulled a few anchor points out on the wire frame to make soft roader version.

Still, people will lap them up.

  • Sold Out.

  • Am sure it is in the catalogue of extras

  • All SUVs are shit and are driven by people who value image over engineering, efficiency and common sense.

Mrs Hefty has just ordered a Tiguan :(

  • You must resist.

  • Anyone here got experience insuring a car in the states (specifically California) on a uk drivers license?

I'm planning to go over there late September and roadtrip/camp/couch surf my way around California while riding bikes and surfing. Looking to buy a cheap car out there and potentially ship
It back with me when/if I return.

  • ^^ Look into ma aiiiiz...

  • I've been driving a 2016 Mustang Cabrio in Hawaii for the past week, it's enormous. 2.3L ecoboost engine is surprisingly rapid but sounds a bit weird - massive turbo whoosh and I'm pretty sure there's a fake noise through the speakers.
The autobox is a bit slow until you put it in sport+ and semi auto but there's not really anywhere around here to really rag it. Speed limits are painfully slow and adhered to.
Oh well, it looks cool on instagram.

  • @Jung pretty much did this

  • I had one of those in California. They do pipe artificial engine noise in, which is a bit rubbish, but the ecoboost engine is a very good thing and has plenty of power. V8 would be nicer of course. Basically it is an excellent car in pretty much every department.

Given a few freeways and deserted roads to rag it on I found that it really will shift, and astonishingly it really handles. It was fantastic hairing up and down the twisty canyon and mountain roads.

In comparison the Camaro V6 I had for the first couple of days was a piece of shit. Pretty, but handled like a boat, far too wide, and despite its vast size you couldn't have the roof down and put suitcases in the boot at the same time.

  • Unfortunately this:

Is meeting with tumble weed on the "I like that one" front, the only one I really do like I can't get hold of the owner of.

    I may give up soon.

  • You literally have the attention span of a small puppy.

  • This is quite possibly true.

  • I'd like a puppy.

  • How many have you driven?

  • In order to drive one, I'd need a current owner to respond to me. So - zero.
