I will be showing this to my Mrs later, we have been married 5 years, where is my biek?
-
• #28
That's looking pretty awesome.
It's a chain ring, saddle and steerer trim away from porn.
Excellent work.

Looks like a brilliant ride!
I actually like the saddle, be prepared as a Cannondale owner, to face forum pressure to get rid of the FSA rings ASAP, as only spider rings or praxis are acceptable. -

At what point did the fizik arione become a no no? I must have missed that memo.
Give the shifting is great I see no reason to change the chainrings until they wear out.

• #31
I've still got those gold MkIV's
-
• #32
I think it's the Evans-like colour como rather than the saddle model.
What about your white Brooks? ;)
-
• #33
What are these?

If I took the hive mind's advice I'd have gold chain rings and a brooks? Rapidly moving towards anti!
-
• #36
Sprung brooks FTW
-
• #37
Selle SMP and gold rings, winning combination. Brooks can get in the bin.

Am enjoying this pretty much as it is. I do think I'd prefer narrower bars and possibly the stem a little further dropped. The Arione works for me.
Today was the first tubeless ride and it is so comfortable, yet feels really nippy. I had to stop a couple of times, bumpy sections of road felt almost squidgy and I thought the tyres were losing pressure. Instead it was just the frame absorbing and taking the harshness away. On the flat there seems to be a sweet spot around 22-24mph where it seems to get easier to propel it along.
Better wheels and tyres made descending feel more confident. The garmin took me on a couple of unpaved farm tracks, and the bike felt more confident than me on muddy uneven surfaces, I was the weakest link wanting to slow down and tense up, where the bike was much better when I kept up the pace and just relaxed.

So how much was this in the end (and where from) or is that secretz?
-
• #40
got it from Sigma when they were reduced at the end of the summer, i think it was approx £2800 with some price matching
and then i went and bought plastic wheels

Arvy.
I genuinely came here to see some sort of chariot.Hope the new bike is fun.
Needs 'mamil' decals...
I'll start the ball rolling:
"you call that music?!"
"where's Pat Sharp these days?"

get some decent chainrings on it, and that looks great.
can you remove the reynolds decals or are they under the topcoat?
-
• #43
Haven't even pondered the decals, not too fussed about them.
Would like spider rings but can't justify the expense, di2 front shifting is working fine.
-
• #44
I've read about someone fitting 700x30 tyres on them. What are you running? Will 28 and guards work?
-
• #45
imo the wheel decals would look great if they were filled in white, proper lairy.
spiderrings schmiderrings, just get some non-silver ones.
-
• #46
Yeah spidy isn't that much of a looker I reckon.

100% Mamil - just needs Gatorskins pumped to 140 psi and dirty bar tape.
-
• #49
bar tape is suitably grubby
-
• #50
It needs Rapha bottles
Congratulations DJ, strong work.
