Have you taken it to a LBS to get the shell tapped?

Bit grey this morning so I rode without glasses for the first time in weeks. Less than a mile in, a fly (medium-sized, fast-flying) flew into my eye on a descent at great speed and exploded across and around my eyeball. It had apparently been feasting on itching powder and sand, so the rest of the ride was spent blinking, crying and wiggling my eyes around to get the rest of the bodyparts out.
Fun ride otherwise though. Rode like a bit of a cunt trying to catch the lights at Southwark St, but otherwise took it easy.

It was something like this:

There was play in the BB even though it appeared to be all the way in. When the DS crank was removed and a BB tool was applied, the BB moved freely but the neither tightened up nor exited the shell.
@edscoble, yep, It's with Armourtex. See post #14179.
They Can't see anything wrong with the BB or the shell.

Agressive drivers, have you ever thought that your aggression is only going to make me ride more defensively? When you try to beep me out of your way and drive a foot from my rear wheel while I turn a corner in front of you at the same time as negotiating peds, and when you do overtake me and then swerve violently at me, trying to force me off the road, I will call you a cunt when I filter past you as you wait at the lights 100m down the road.

Hmm I'm sure it's not the case but is the bb the correct thread for the bb shell?

• #14185
Well, it was fine for about 4 years so I reckon so :^)

Amazingly, they don't even get it. Today I was on a bus (first time for a long time - since last injury basically) and I got a glimpse of how frustrating being stuck in traffic in a stinky metal box really is. But mostly it just made me think how awesome cyclists are.
Stupid driver c*nts.

Yeah but...workplace refreshment station overlooks a big busy city street and having a bird's eye view as all too many cyclists filter both sides of big veeks at stops and junctions, RLJ through peds on crossings and generally be inconsiderate knobs is quite sobering and depressing.

^Well, I'm sure rhere's a fair bit of fickwittery on all sides. I am blind to the errors of cyclists & peds. They're the ones making an effort.
Ignore the bad, praise the good /supernanny

A couple of Regent's Park laps enlivened by a Pretorius rider's heavy sex noises at the lights topped only by a very angry middle aged Brompton rider who I can only assume had a run in with a van driver as I heard him bellowing "YOU'RE ANOTHER ONE WHO'S GOING TO GET FUCKING FUCKED". Superb efforts.

Currently sat on a bus, as some theiving c*** stole my bars, cables and tried the rear mech but just stripped it of bolts instead.
Happy Friday

Sorry to hear that. If you need another rear mech, I have a 10 speed 105 which will shortly become surplus to requirements - got a 7900 which I just need to get around to fitting. Won't be able to do anything for a week though.
Let me know if it would be of use.

First day back from 2 weeks in France eating cheese. Etc. Seems I have stored some energy along the way because I made it into work but maybe I stored too much energy because I didn't make it into my suit trouser waistband. Of course it could be muscle?

ok, i'm sick of this kak driving - almost got wiped out today by a car on the opposite side of the minor B road getting overtaken by some frikin nutball in a ford mondeo - did he brake when see me, no, he accelerated harder and waved at me to get off the road - which i had to, right into a grass ditch.
so - helmet cams with good enough resolution for prosecution ???- any pointers welcome!

Satirical article suggests cyclists exaggerate the danger on the roads, lorry driver in comments posts graphic death threats. It's like that Alanis song.

Got into a terrific argument with a driver on the way down to Brighton on Saturday. One of those roundabouts that allow traffic to filter in from the right on an essentially straight road: I'm going straight, driver filtering from my right. We're both approaching at speed (bear in mind he has to turn right) but I enter the roundabout marginally before him. I have my eye on what he's doing the whole time. He's obviously assumed I was going to give him priority, which I wasn't minded to do, given that I was in first. He speeds on to the roundabout and, as a consequence, I have to ride around him as he turns right, probably turning a bit more than he wants to. Then he stops, winds the window down and the anger starts. It's like fireworks, calling me a cunt, saying that if he'd hit me he would get the blame (rightly, I think), etc. I told him I was in first, that he should have waited, that it was unreasonable to expect me to give him priority when he had no right to it, etc. He just kept calling me a cunt. He looked like his head was going to explode. Eventually he drove off. I had the impression that he made the decision to have the argument before he actually got to the roundabout: he would have been able to see me from tens of metres back. We do have a problem in this country, I think.
What made you think the shell threads had been stripped?
