Good Spot! Original fork would have been lugged (I hadn't noticed!?)
Thanks. -

that looks like a fork from a later model
it's exactly the same as the one on my 94 alan frame.

Bad news I'm afraid!
Just went to have a closer look at my mystery forks and noticed a tiny crack in front lug - so guessing the frame is toast

I'd be keen to take this as a wall hanger or as a retro turbo trainer bike if it's no longer going to be able to be ridden out on the road! I had a black one of these a few years back and loved how it looked... Let me know if you're still going to get rid of it
Cheers,

No frame is not toast at all.
Those cracks are fine and safe to ride. Got two of them like that that were ridden for years like that and contacted Alan themselves with pictures and Alberto (the Al in Alan) both times replied that the riding is safe.
This is the frame I have and the picture I sent to Alberto and he deemed it safe!
I had actually sold it to a dude in Ireland and he rode it for two years like that before sending it back to me again.

In your case, particularly on frames of 54cm of size, it is a deadly issue. I can hang it my living room. Thanks :)
