  • @Timmy2wheels We went for a mixture.

Stuff thats integrated we went for cheap stuff that had the highest volume of good reviews i.e Washing Machine which I'm really happy with in terms of quality + speed of wash etc

We went for a Smeg range cooker as I was impressed with a friends one and I think we have a matching extractor.

AO are really good and I'd recommend them, also think you can get cashback with them

  • just bought a fridge / freezer from ao.com, they are good and usually can deliver next day for free, or for a fiver. Driver call when they are on their way, so no need to wait around etc. There is 1 thing I'd be careful with them though, as I nearly fell for it, is their extended warranty. They'd call you on the day of your delivery, 'pretending' to check with you that everything is OK, you are going to be in etc, next thing I knew, I had agreed to their extended warranty for like £7 a month for a fridge that cost me less than £200. I realised I had fallen for it when they asked for my bank details... bit cheeky but no harm done, they won't bother again daily if you if you say no. Overall, much happier with them and some other shops.

They do do a small cashback, although mine is not coming through... so will see if they come good.

  • Miele FTW. Expensive but satisfying...

  • Another vote for Miele, 3 appliances 14 yrs old with very little maintenance.

  • Yeah, that is the bit you have to watch out for

I really like them as a business and their ceo is great. I like that he empowers the call centre customer service staff to do whatever the feel is necessary to resolve the customers issues

  • We bought one thing from AO, the dishwasher I think, and they were really good.

We bought a Gorenje fridge/freezer and a Stoves cooker both as graded appliances through Ebay or graded appliance websites. The fridge freezer was about 3/5 of the price of the standard one and had a few small scratches on the side which is against the wall - now it's got a lot more because my bike hangs next to it.

The cooker had a missing knob and spring. I bought a new knob and spring from the manufacturer. Now it's fine.

    Me, earlier:

  • I've used three separate solicitors for my purchases and by far the best is Julie Wilde from DP Cameron Solicitors in Crouch End. She was great I must admit and the costs were very reasonable.

  • good luck mate with the lea bridge purchase. where abouts on the road is it? if you're interested in east in general have you thought about north of blackstock road? or south of lea bridge going towards leyton midland? it's cheaper round those areas.

  • I'll have a look - my area is basically anywhere east and as close to Clapton as I can be. The one I'm looking at requires me to save up an extra £4k but it's halfway between the new train station and Leyton proper. It's OK - not amazing but OK.

Will definitely check those areas out, appreciate it.

  • @AirTime u a property mogul or something ?

  • no he's just a professional tightwad.

  • I do owe him a beer though, so he's not all bad... x

  • Yeh I heard he is a bit of a tight git

  • Hotpoint can burn in hell

Unless of course the flames are provided by a hotpoint appliance in which case all bets are off

  • I've got lots of unwanted, used bedding and 3 duvets that need shifting, seems recycling is not an option, (council doesn't take duvets or bedding, battersea dogs home doesn't take bedding or duvets, barnado's doesn't take bedding or duvets) anyone know what I can do with it without binning it? Or know anyone who'd want some well used duvets and bedding?

    let me know

  • Local rubbish dump will recycle it.

  • ALL THE GREASY RAGS.
    Or dust sheets.

  • ones I'm pointed to wont!
Keep looking online and most say specifically that they don't.

  • gonna try and freecycle them, once I figure out what I've got..

  • can't find any details online for them
