I have a complete spare rear wheel for sale, with a (sought after) SRAM Automatix 2 speed freewheel hub (interchangeable sprockets).
For those who don't know this hub, this freewheel hub shifts up in a higher gear at around 17km/h and you can also modified the spring tension that controls the shifting point as per this blog-mccraw.co.uk/sram-automatix-review/
This is a freewheel version- not the coaster brake or roller brake version and was taken off a 2013 Commencal Uptown 29er Cromo Hardtail Bike.
I was planning on using it on my XACD Titanium Hack, however, I changed my mind and will be using a coaster wheel instead #CSB
Technical specification is as follows:
Rim: Jalco Single Wall Vb 36h (has been used with a rear brake so the black anodisation has worn off slightly but the surface itself has no wear) - the rim is wide so I would advise using a 700c tyre that is at least 32mm wide.
Hub: Nutted SRAM Automatix 36h Rear, freewheel, spaced at 120mm, axle is 178mm long. Brand new 20t 3/32 sprocket fitted (sprockets are standard Shimano Nexus/Alfine or Sturmey Archer or SRAM.
Spokes: Stainless 72p 3x Lacing Black.
Tire: Schwalbe Big Apple 29x2.00 (622 x 50mm).
The wheel is true and ready to ride, it comes with 2x Schwalbe Big Apple tyres with approximately 40% life left in them. Ideal if you want to try big ballon tyres or check your clearance.
Price wise, the rear hub alone is £69 and tyres £18 a pop. Let's call is £45->SOLD for £40 for the lot.
