The xsr is definitely a bit taller than the MT even thought they're basically the same. Had a go on both and loved 'em, but the seat on the MT seems to be a bit comfier. The xsr had a relatively sharp edged seat that got uncomfortable fast.
Not sure why taller. I've heard talk that despite being the same chassis to a degree, Yamaha is testing the ground with the xsr to develop a proper scrambler as they're popular at the moment, which apparently means a taller bike.
Aftermarket parts for it would fucking wreck your wallet. Tempting.
OK, so the same as me. The XRS is meant to be a bit taller, but I was wondering what a 'bit' actually relates to.
I'd rather not go the finance route at the moment. For my needs I think £2-3k is more than enough to be spending and should get me something usable.
The main pain at the moment is finding the time (and places) to look at and try bikes out. They all seem to be in West London and closed outside working hours.
