It's always looked quite simple to me - do you need a specific tool to take the cranks OFF?!
Ultra Torque cranks are easy enough to get off as long as you have a long enough allen key. Bearings are a pain to change though as they're pressed on to the spindle - you'll need a bearing puller, something to press the new bearings back on as well as the Hollowtech II tool for the cups. Need a host of funky adapters to get Ultra Torque to work with BB30/BBRight etc
Veloce/Athena Power Torque have the bearings in the cups. Yay ! However Campag forgot to include a method to remove the cranks, and relies on a Park Tool puller which can break when using.
Potenza Power Torque is probably the best crank/bb combo they've had for an age - bearings in the cups, and a self extracting bolt on the cranks.I don't know where to start with Overtorque....

That's kinda like griping at traditional headsets / crown races being pressed in to the frame. Kinda irritating but not like a job you need to do all the time.
UT is probably the best outboard BB design.
Powertorque is just fucking stupid, but I suspect patents backed them in to a corner.
