oct??
Open Core Technology, SRAM's name for hollow forged cranks.

Even previous generation Rivals (which I possess) are OCT, so shouldn't all of them be?..
-

shouldn't all of them be?
They don't claim it on the current ones with separate spider. OCT is relatively expensive, they probably judged that there wasn't really enough room between the solid metal cranks and the Force carbon ones. Shimano don't do carbon cranks, so they don't have the same market differentiation issue and hollow forge from 105 up to DA.

My bro had something similar to that walker adaptor but it had 3x M4 grub screws radially around it that dug into the existing thread! I think it was from iridemodena but that was a long time ago.
Also can you get a disc wheel to run central in a 120mm spaced frame or would you have to cold-set to 130mm?
Cheers. I already ordered the Walker one, but nice to know.
Need to measure the disc wheel, but I think it's 126mm.

Bro was round last night, so I checked the details with him
The IrideModena unit does not increase hub spacing - but it used the Miche spline and (only accepts Miche Primato cogs).
It also killed the thread on the hub as the 3 grub screws were cone tipped and once you've rotafixed the primate cog/adaptor onto your hub you fasten/loctite the pointy grubscrew so that it burrows into the hole.
Apparently these were brklz approved by the fixieskidders of Modena.Good luck with your project

dug up the old frame its been sitting in storage a little fluff rust around the bb area but i guess its to be expected. 1900 gr is pretty good allmost feel bad putting the heavy square taper on it. :) gonna build it up with the downtube shimy 600 so iy should be pretty light .. Bb is the only offender ...
Anyone know what make that fork is.. Had it for a while but never bothered to ask. Its got a full carbon steerer too

When one is looking to get a custom frame built, where would you go for a reasonable price. I've heaed that rycharski isn't producing as good products as he once used too? Rourke is doing some good work at a decent price (around a grand for custom 853 with forks and paint). Anywhere else?

Another one to think about.
What's communication like with these over Seas guys? I like the idea of ease and local from rourke, plus the bike fit too.
-
• #109518
Yeah the stock ones are abominations
These are actually full carbon DRUG inc, but look exactly the same as Alpina

Just picked up an 853 rourke - will be building tonight - build thread in progress already
-
• #109520

• #109522
Drilled? Price?
-
• #109523
Orlo are very good w communication, obviously they cant do a bike fit for you but given how much less they charge you can just get someone in the UK to fit you and draw up a geo
