Did you go down a size. I'm a true 34 and wondering should I be going down to a 32?

I'm a 33 in Levis and I got the shorts in 32, tried on the 30s and they were definitely too small. Rode in wearing the 32s today and they were perfect. Much better than the pair of baggy enduras that I have, less flapping thanks to the tailored fit.
