Kenny and Skinner were riding their Cervelos. Hindes was on his UK Sport bike, hence the different fork. Hindes had been having issue with the Cervelo.

Look at how much the pace drop at each change.

It depends on the type of wheel you are using. Different types of wheels move the air differently, for some it's best to have the forks very close to the wheel to keep the air moving over the whole thing, for some it's best to have a gap to let the air escape.

There was an article a short while after the new Cervelo was announced saying it was too flexy and too heavy. Good thing they have other options.
