  • My conversation with an Evans employee this afternoon:

"Hello mate, these tyres are £45 on the shelf but £24 online"
    "What website?"
    "The Evans website"
"Oh. Let me check, yeah they're £45 here"
"But they're the same tyre, and you do price match anyway so surely they should be £24"
"They're the same tyre, but we get them from different suppliers, that's why"
"So... why does that make any difference?"
"You can only get them online"
"Ok... well Ribble do them for £27 so can I price match to them?"
"No, because they might get them from a different supplier"
"Again, why does that matter if it's the exact same tyre?"
    "..."
"Ok cool, I'll just buy them from someone else then"
"No problem. Could you put them back on the shelf for me please?"
"Nope. I don't work here mate. Kthnxbye"

  • OEM Tyres I'd imagine ?

The differential between full retail and OEM prices for tyres is ridiculous.
Annoying when shopping for tubs - seeing the differential between an OEM clincher vs full retail for tub (as tubs don't have OEM versions)
