So far im really enjoying it but the variety in planets isn't as great as it could be.
I think someone on reddit said it felt as though each of the algorithms parameters were set between -1.0 and 1.0 rather than -10.0 and 10.
Having said that, I'm about 12-14 hours in and still loving it. The novelty of exploring new planets and moons hasn't worn off at all and the Atlas 'mystery' is keeping me interested.
Finally, the size of it is mind boggling. My starter planet was roughly 172,500 light years from the center of the galaxy. I've made over 20 warp jumps now and am about 171,000 light years from the centre. I have just unlocked a blueprint for warp drive though so once I've built that, I'll be making larger jumps than I have been.
Given what they team at Hello Games managed to change from the gold master to the 1.03 patch (in less than 10 days) I'm excited for the future of the game. Base building and freighter ships are next up...
This is my favourite screenshot I've taken so far:
It's from a barren moon but I flew to the planet in the shot shortly afterwards and it looked like this:
Interested to hear people's thoughts on No Mans Sky so far. Yet to see a review from anyone who's opinion I trust.
