  • What's hockey all about then? People played it at my school (comprehensive in the north west) but I think I only played once or twice in PE lessons. Don't think I've ever met anyone who plays since school.

Why are the hockey clubs in places like East Grinstead and Cannock?

Is it OK to want GB to win or is this like dressage?

  • At my school, it was the only way to get out of being mauled once a week playing sodding rugby.

I think it's ok to like it - there's a significant step from hockey to dressage.

  • Also played hockey at school with all the other kids who didn't hit puberty early and were tired of being mauled by grown men (that's NI schools for you). One of the guys who won gold on Sean Kerly's team went to the school and came back for a training session and let us rub his medal.

A mate plays for Richmond, which she describes as basically a lesbian social club. The tales of the goings-on on tour would give you the vapours.
