It's surprising that they can't be trusted to not go out of their own volition.
I guess how reasonable it is comes down to whether he went out for a quite drink or got completely bladdered.

he came back at 6 AM and has apparantly disturbed other team members upon entry, still no full story/details here. he's starting a case to win back the right to partake in the finals. I don't think he will, as the Olympic committee already appointed a replacement. lots of talk here about hypocritical judgment, with team NL's biggest sponsor being a beer brand...

Behaviour clauses aren't uncommon for sportspeople participating in major events. That's not too surprising given the investment that gets put into getting them there.
