Should Pooley have bothered coming back out of retirement? I'm not sure I'm a fan of retiring then un-retiring for an Olympic year and taking a younger rider's spot.

The course made for exciting times for the road race (albeit with some nasty crashes) but it seems to verge on the ridiculous with riders on their TT rigs.

They might have said this, but how do they determine running order for the Olympic ITT?

Fair enough but on the other hand, Armstrong has retired a couple of times and has just won the TT. She's 43 and despite being the oldest is evidently better than all the other riders there. Given that she is demonstrably the best rider available, what's your rationale for giving her spot to a poorer rider?

Apparently its a random allocation of start times, which the UCI are allowed to tweak - ostensibly to ensure that two compatriots aren't following one another. It does seem that their tweaked order looks suprisingly well ordered.
