  • "sexanoidsII"

  • this has probably been covered but has anyone managed to hook an iMac up to a PS4?

looking at NMS has me wanting to be an intergalactic space dick...

  • Do you mean use the iMac as a monitor? If so, i don't think it's possible.

Best bet would be to create a bootcamp partition and buy a copy on Steam when it releases on Friday...

  • you mean use the imac as a screen?

it's a function called target display mode and only works on some machines and possibly only with other macs.

  • Dead rising is dropping on PS4 next month.
Dead Rising, Dead Rising 2, DR2: off the record

I had a hoot with DR2 on the ps3, was vaguely thinking I would like to go back and play them again.
Seem a little pricey though, £16 each or £40 for the bundle.
Only digital, afaik no plans for physical versions.
Would pay £20 for the lot. I can see them popping on PS+ in the future.

  • I'm excited for the new deus ex game, due out in 2 weeks!

  • I downloaded the SNES version of that recently, much tougher than I remember... You played Parodius lately? The best... Gradius can fuck off...

  • Parodius was great. I used to play that loads on MAME.

Modern joypads just aren't up to it though.

I had a try on Xenon 2, lasted about 10 seconds.

  • Yep, pre ordered. One of the few series I'll do that for. Even after Invisible War.

  • Ironically I'd likely be the same if they weren't so hell-bent on offering pre-order bonuses.

  • I've ordered No Man's Sky. Also pre-ordered FFVX.

  • I want No Man's Sky, however am holding off until PC version is released.
Still a bit pissed off that they delayed it, but whatever

  • On emulators and old games, are there any decent 8 way, arcade joysticks that don't cost a bomb?

  • I don't understand. Why is everyone freaking out about NMS?

Deus Ex, on the other hand...

Also, bought Fallout 4. Few hours in. Not for me.

  • So FO3/NV/4 is odd. I think the stories are a bit meh, but I always love wandering around the ruins of a city I could go to and finding stuff. The teddies are awesome, and the various mazes are good.

I just didn't really like NV

  • NV was the first one I bought. Loved it.
Because I have a tiny house I am reluctantly selling my cocktail table arcade machine. Cab is a Tekhan Space Invaders clone and it has a MAME machine in it, with additional Sega Genesis and Jukebox. Lots of games, and the (old 5p) coin mech is wired up.

    Who's interested?
I would want quite a lot for it, btw.

  • I'm waiting for No Man's Sky on the PC as well. I still have no idea what the actual gameplay is all about, which is intriguing but I'm also concerned it could be a massive let down after all the hype. It would be very easy to find out between now and Friday but I'd rather wait and experience the disappointment myself.

As for Deus Ex, I wasn't all that impressed by Human Revolution so don't have much anticipation for this new one. To be honest I haven't really been paying much attention to the previews. HR felt much more linear that my (possibly rose-tinted) memories of the first game, with little decision making which actually had any effect on the story. Then there was the farce of developing your character and equipment for sneaky-stealthy style only to find yourself locked in a room with a tooled-up meathead boss and no reasonable way of beating him.

  • Did anyone play INSIDE?

Very linear side-scrolling platformer (aka going right simulator) from the same people who made Limbo. Your £15 doesn't get you much in the way of reply value, but it is incredibly stylish, sinister and has simple but very polished gameplay.

It also eventually has you controlling one of the best characters in any video game, evar. To say any more would be spoliers, so I won't.

  • I've spent about 6 hours playing NMS now.

Won't spoil the game or the mechanics but i'm having a lot of fun. Would recommend.

  • flrp flrp flrp squelch. loved it.

  • is it worth buying a ps4 for?

  • I don't get it - I've only really heard about this game in the last couple of weeks, but surely:

No Man’s Sky fans have long wondered whether it’s possible to see other players if they’re on the same planet. The answer, it appears, is no.

is the type of question you'd have asked, and had answered, in the last 4 or so years it's been in development? Has the entire thing - including basic game play mechanics - been a secret?

  • I don't really like online games, though, so this is a positive point in my books.
