• Followng an upgrade, @LittleHeather is selling both of her old bikes. Available for test rides in Z4 Beckenham (overland line from Victoria/Brixton) No postage yet, but possible if no interest in pickup:

First up there's a Small Islabike Luath 700, probably around 2008 vintage. Would fit someone 5'-5'5" with an inside leg of 28"+:

    7005 Aulminium frame and fork
    Seat tube: 42cm c-c, 46cm c-t
    Top tube: 49cm actual c-c, 50cm c-c virtual horizontal
    Standover: 73cm
    8 speed groupset:
Sora shifters with reach adjustment for small hands
    Sora rear mech
    Mirage (I think) front mech
    160mm compact chainset 48-34T
Tektro Oryx canti rear, v-brake with a travel agent on the front. I have the Oryx somewhere in the garage if you want to take it with you and put it back on.
The wheels are 2 year old handbuilt Kinlin ADHN on Tiagra hubs, and I have the original Isla wheels as well, which are worn but serviceable as spares. There's also a second set of Kinlin/Tiagra which have currently got Conti cross tyres fitted, but have never been ridden. Perfect pit wheels if you're thinking of trying out a bit of cross.

It was used for a season of cross, so has the expected paint scratches and rubs, but had a new headset fitted in 2012 by Brixton Cycles who gave the frame a clean bill of health, and it's been well treated since then, used for a few commutes and short Sunday rides, and by @KT_Bee for a couple of C2Cs. In safe rideable condition.

Looking for £SOLD for the bike, spare Isla wheels and original front brake. An extra £50 for the second Kinlin/Tiagra wheelset.

See next post for the Hewitt...

  • Paul Hewitt 650c custom:

Beautiful steel frame custom made (for someone else) by Paul Hewitt sometime in the early 2000s, judging by the components. Lovely paint colour, although a bit chipped, due to lock use and general wear. Interesting frame for its time as it uses traditional geometry with non-traditional tubing.

Would suit rider 5'-5'5" with and inside leg over 28".

    Seat tube: 45cm c-c, 48cm c-t
    Top tube: 47cm c-c
    Standover: 73cm
    9 speed groupset:
    Mirage shifters
    Mirage rear mech
Unknown front mech (but works fine)
    Unknown triple chainset 50-40-30T
Mirage brakes with almost new pads
Wheels are Velocity Aerohead on Mirage hubs, with some wear to brake track, but plenty of life left. Hubs in good condition.

Seat and bartape in good nick, nothing needed to make it rideable. Price: SOLD

  • I rode the Isla twice and loved it - if space permitted I'd take it like a shot. Great fun to ride - super robust but still pretty speedy on roads with slicks. GLWS

  • I'm very interested in the Hewitt for my wife. We'd like to come and look at it. I'm also new to this forum so can you pm me so that we can arrange to see it off group?

  • Hewitt sold. Isla dibsed for delivery, but available for local sale if you're quick.

  • Both bikes done. Will follow up later with a new thread for the wheelset and a Brompton S2L when I've given it a once over.
