Couldn't agree more with you and I think were on the same side. I would never ever pay Cicli Berlinetta Prices - au contraire, I paid 60€ for a complete Colnago Super for instance. My only point is that LFGSS is a rather tough market and prices which are above what is considered acceptable on here can still be market prices as long as there is an idiot (read solvent/willing buyer) who is willing to pay that kind of money for it.
A friend of mine is working in private equity and the bonuses they charge for luxury cars appear ridiculous to anybody who knows their shit. However, this is because the market is not just made up of experts so I would argue that a frame's worth is its market value in a given market. If said market contains people who are willing to pay as much as asked, then the frame's worth to the seller is the asking price that is being paid by the buyer.
It's a rather special market, somewhat similar to the art market as there is no perfect cross-elasticity between frames of different makers because their value in the eyes of the buyer is determined by subjective factors of personal taste and preference. That being said, I fully agree that 750€ is not a good deal for that Frame :)p.s. the holy grail Quote is really not helping, you're right. Will delete it from the initial post so as not to give prospective sellers a reason to charge a premium ;)
If you're paying the prices Cicli Belinetta or other shops like Steel Vintage charge then you really aren't looking hard enough. Sure there will always be people willing to pay a premium for not having to, but I don't think you can go by these shops as being any kind of guide for prices.
It's a nice, well built frame, but every time I read what little is written about it seems to regurgitated from the same article talking about how they are the Holy Grail of bikes.
