recently purchased a genesis day one, which comes stock with 35c continental sport contact tires, which I'm thinking make it a solid if heavy ride, thinking of swapping them out for either marathon supremes in 32c or the Clement Strada USH in 32c or the Clement LGG in 28c
@epilepticfridgeboy and @jimmy2shoes see you've had some experience with the Clement's would you recommend? Good tyres, good puncture protection?Any other recommendations welcome..

Very pleased with the LGGs, one puncture in about 2000km so far. That's on road and a very short bit of gravel. Not an exhaustive test but would buy again, although 28s, I think 25s come up quite small.

I've done some reading on the Clements and apparently the 120tpi ones are great and the 60tpi ones are awful.

better than marathon supreme? cheaper? better for all weather commuting?
-

aren't the 120tpi ones, more race orientated? Thought the 60tpi's are supposed to be more robust.

Following @amey's advice, I've been commuting on Kojaks for last 3 months. They have been fine in wet and dry, and seem a good balance between quick and comfort. Plenty of grip, but then I don't go into corners like a lunatic when its pouring.
I rate them.

Many flats?

None so far.

1800 miles in Marathon Supreme 32c, no flats, very little sign of wear. Nothing to compare them to, mind.

This!

If you bike can accommodate 35mm or larger than I would definitely do that!
-

No, nothing is in that aspect but faster and lighter. The new supremes are supposed to be even better and are tubeless compatible.

does anyone have experience with these? im hoping they're like a dark gumwall colour as it shows but google gives mixed photos of bright yellow and the more gum looking colour

I had the all black ones, and wasn't really impressed. Wear pretty quickly and the rubber tears up fairly easily. Grip seemed OK.
Good price though for a pair of tyres and tubes. Too bad they're 23c.

They're going to be too yellow to pass as gumwalls. Just get Paselas

Kojak in 35mm or the Marathon Supreme.

My experience of the LGG is that it's not the most amazing tyres you can buy, it's lacklustres and have very small tread/large sidewall, not useful on wide rims.

Yeah ive got pasellas on my other wheelset uts just they seem like a really good deal!

To counter Tjis's experience I've run 3 of these for about a year and a half, only had one bad puncture that probably would have killed any tire, and think they are a lot nicer to ride than Gatorskins etc

Hello all - asking on behalf of a friend here... he's after some 38c gumwalls to stick on 700c archetypes... he is looking at Compass Barlow Pass, anything else he should be considering? In his words 'something fast and puncture proof' - not sure these two exist together without some trade off but you'll know more than me!
Cheers in advance,
Matt -

Barlow pass is nice but pricey, cant really call it 'puncture proof' though @umop3pisdn might disagree as he rides on them .. otherwise Kojak.

Yet to p*nctr... I'm on Bon Jon Pass though.

can you get a Kojak in 38c? with Gumwall?
Cheers,
Matt
I actually have the Service Course flavour, but got them before they brought out the 28c Endurance. I'd get the Endurance next time but the SC ones have been very nice.
