  • No bother, I would love to post more dedicated photography but family and work conspires to keep me busy!

I'm not going to flounce ;)

  • I like the kids pics

  • A little harsh? Some people are technically good photographers, but just cannot do people photos - they're better with inanimate objects. I like photos of children, and dogs, and maybe a bit more variation of viewpoint would be advantageous, but I think calling it dross fails to give it any appreciation. As for the umbrella photo, I'd like to see the full image, as I suspect that what is shown here is cropped, and by quite some margin. I don't mind being wrong about this though.

  • Dont bring me into it.....I made it clear brolly shot was heavily cropped......Its a tool I used to create an effect .....If I had a zoom lens that is what end result would have been....

  • In the last two days, two fellow photographer friends gave me their medium format film that they "won't be shooting anyways".

Ironically this batch falls into my lap shortly after I decided to settle on shooting only Portra 400 and nothing else for the rest of 2016 -
now I have a wild mix of rolls that have expired years ago, most of them between 2000 and 2005, the APX though 1997, and that Ektachrome 1987 !

  • That looks like a lot of fun! Considering being my Rollei to Berlin for some MF goodness!

  • The Agfa for some madly saturated goodness. Amazing film to get back from the developers.

  • That sounds good. Have never heard of these Agfa films before.

@mi7rennie - yeah, definitely fun, albeit expensive fun..
..only have a dedicated 35mm scanner, so currently looking at macro lenses for my Nikon as that might indeed be the best option..

  • What a haul! That Portra 100T should be really interesting. Just searched for it on flickr and it looks pretty cinematic.

Also super curious to see how the Ektarchrome turns out. We're the same age...

  • What's 'Portra 100 T' then?

An actual box of VC !!! ... fuuuuu

  • Whilst we're on the subject of film...

I'm gonna post in here when I find deals.

    Agfa Precisa (4 rolls).
[edit] was £20, now sadly over 30 [edit]

This stuff is Fujifilm Sensia AFAIK. I find it hard not to get colour shifts but it's quite low-contrast for slide film.

Ektar is still a fiver over at Calumet too.

  • The VC box is only half-full, but yeah..
Portra 100T is tungsten-balanced. Have never heard of it before either.

    That Agfa Precisa I like.
Over here it's also the cheapest slide film available, and I like it's blue-ish / 'fresh' tones.

  • "Considering being my Rollei to Berlin for some MF goodness!"

You've got a 1960s model? Photograph all the Cold War stuff with it. I've got a mid 30s model and I love photographing Munich with it. It's like it's coming home. Mines a German model (as opposed to made for export), so I'd like to think that a middle-aged Bavarian used it for the exact same tourist snaps as I'm taking.

  • Yeah, it's a VB so 60s model. Going to shoot Ektar 100 on the VB (got 10 rolls) and HP5 pushed to 1600 at night on the MJU II, achtung baby!

  • Ektar will be amazing in 120. I'm a recent convert.

  • I didn't care so much for your last two but I really like this!

  • Some Tri X back from earlier this year. Dynax 7 and 50mm F1.4.

  • Nice! Where did you get it processed?

  • Photoghost in Aberdeen, really good guys.

  • They do an all you can eat development subscription for £25 per month... That's awesome.

  • That's exactly what I do.
