  • The height from the ground to the forearm resting position is no less than 80% of the height of the saddle from the ground.

You don't have a forearm resting position on this bike, so Reg14d is moot.

  • Rear wheel dilemma - train on last years tub wheel, or fork out for 3/32 powertap sprockets?

  • Right size 1/8" sprockets already on the powertap? Why not just a 1/8" chain for training?

  • Probably a more sensible idea.

  • Is that your skinsuit?

  • When that image of the scale appeared in my email notifications, I thought you'd bought a Ghibli, ha! (because email couldn't deal with the image size).
    Nice, where'd you find that?
Also, training on the Ellipse is going to make you fly when you put the 2016 tubs on.

  • Get the paint removed :)

  • Training spec, decided to go with the tub rear. Should probably put something tougher than a Crono on the back.

Not enough chainring bolts so I'll have to pinch some off the road bike.

  • The gains just keep on coming

  • Bits of the saddle? Bet you could lose a couple of kilos from that enormous spacer stack above the stem.

  • Brake pad fins. Always wondered about chopping those saddle bits off but it would definitely be <1g.

Spacer stack, yeah will get round to it

I've always assumed that a 110mm stem was a bit short for me, but it turns out the fit is exactly the same as my road bike.

  • Chain looks pretty tight. Talking about the chain, can't you lose a full link? Or isn't this the final gearing?

I like the weight saving of not using a quick release for the front wheel. ;)

  • I could use anywhere between a 15 and 22t sprocket depending on the hill, so you need a long chain. Also have 42t and 44t chainrings. Currently geared at 64" and 58" for Swains sessions.

  • Can you go without breaks on a hill climb? They aren't exactly essential

  • Given his fitness I imagine he can make it up most climbs without needing to stop for a breather

  • They are under CTT regulations.

  • CTT regulations:

"Bicycles with a fixed wheel shall have a left hand threaded locking device securing the fixed sprocket. Similarly, tricycles with a fixed wheel shall have a suitable locking device or alternatively shall include an integral system as part of the design. Machines with fixed wheel require only a brake operating on the front wheel(s)."

  • Cheap carbon SMP saddle are like 90g.

Will take out the scale when I go back to work.

  • It's already aesthetically challenging Ed.

    SMP >>>>>

  • This is going to be 3kg lighter than my road bike. Quite looking forward to hillclimbs.

  • Mine weighs in at 128g. I'm sure there are lighter options (or maybe I got a duff one?)
