USE Alien? Probably only available second hand, and might not tick the 'decent' box.
Ritchey Classic is well good though.

thanks both. Ideally I want one of these
to match
but I think that might be nigh on impossible

Have a 44mm head tube on a new frame with a 1 1/8" to 1.5" tapered fork.
I want a Hope pick'n'mix headset to suit. What I think I need is:
- type 2 upper
- type H lower
Can anyone confirm?
- type 2 upper

For anyone that has an Enve Road Disc 2.0 fork, it is listed as fitting at 28c max - but have you managed to squeeze in anything larger?

Will I die a horrible death if I extend my chain by adding in one inner link and a second kmc style chain link?

Will I die a horrible death
I have no idea, but if you do then it won't be the twin quick links which are responsible

Chinese freewheel on my Plug 0 is annoying me - draggy and noisy. Is it worth forking out for a shimano freewheel
or are the sturmey archer ones fine?

many thanks

Not Sturmey Archer, they're as bad as the cheap one, Shimano is nothing special but it's reliable (base on my experiences of servicing customer's bikes).
But jf you have to spend £30, you're better off spending a bit more for the Halo Clickster.

Thanks Ed - the Halo one is only a few quid more than the Shimano so will get the Halo.
Cheers

Maybe a little harder to source, but old Suntour BMX units are great.

Second the halo clickster
Well worth the money, plus makes a rad noise.

Or a sweet trials jobby from tartybikes, the jitsie 108 I have is far too loud for any sensible application.
-
• #77916
tartybikes
They even test their freewheels with an spl meter so you can pick the loudest - jitsie 108 at 82dBA is near the top, but an extra tenner gets you the 85dBA Monty Pro Race :-)

How many teeth you after? I have an 18t WI trials hub going spare... At some point it'll need a new centre piece as tabs were a little mauled ages ago. Been fitted/removed several times since, just need to be careful...

but an extra tenner gets you the 85dBA Monty Pro Race
Time for a new freewheel then.

Ooh, 135 engagement points and better seals, that wasn't around when I broke my last one.

When, roughly, will the Olympic cycling finish today?
-
• #77921
If nobody wants this I'll take it off your hands.

~1930h BST

Thanks - I'm after 16t though. I think 18 would be a bit too spinney.

• #77924
Interested too - how much/have any pics?

Why do so many people leave the quick release (or whatever it's called) on their campy brake levers open? Are they just stupid or is there a reason behind this?
ed. talking about this:

If you can live with ~25mm set back, Kalloy SP-248 or Ritchey Classic.
