That did cross my mind actually but not sure the carbon would take a thread. Looks as though the alloy insert with the square taper has come loose inside, maybe the 'glue' has deteriorated. I think it was an issue with others at the pedal thread end.
I did think of drilling some 1mm holes into the arm around the insert and injecting some epoxy into it. Nowt to lose really as its pretty useless as it is, well creaks like hell anyway.

Cheeky post in here (as its for a C40) but anybody comes across or has one of these I'd greatly appreciate a heads up
Need a left hand '02 record carbon crank arm like this one as mine has failed at the thread insert bond. Would consider a complete crankset with or without rings too.
172.5 if arm only otherwise not fussy.
