Thanks everyone, it's been tough, but we just have to think of the fantastic 4 years he gave us. We are looking into getting a rescue dog from battersea in the next few months to fill the now empty feeling apartment, all approved, just waiting for the right time. Needless to say he won't be meeting a dog walker, I'm going to work from home til he's settled, then cycle home on lunch to take him out for an hour.
@stedlocks please post yours, time to fill this thread with joy again!

No worries colm, and it's good that you can give anoth r dog a bit of quality dog space......
Ok, this is Chester, asleep next to me, sucking my finger whilst I stroked his cheek.
Shitty iPad picture, but I couldn't move, for obvious reasons.....

This is awful, poor little dude. Best of luck with your new dog.
As a sometime dog walker, this kind of thing is also a great fear for me (which is (one of the reasons) why I always keep the dog on his lead... So shit that your walker didn't have the balls to tell you what had happened.

That's so sad and needless. Wishing you all the best and hope you find a great dog from Battersea.

I've been on crutches for 10 weeks and @hats has been an absolute star in walking Herbie for me. She had to endure a traumatic incident when he was attacked by a local pit bull that was running off the lead, and still came back for more. Every afternoon from 6 onwards he would be staring at the front door, waiting for her to come...

I'm away from home for a few weeks and catless, so have made friends with a regular visitor to bothwell's garden.

I'm working from home today and Chico is making sure that I don't forget he might want a treat / walk / stroke / hug at some point (very) soon.

Chico is a fucking dude!

He's actually a small boy in a wookie cosplay suit, but don't tell my wife.

All these rad photos of your Flatcoat are reminding me how much I miss mine! The biggest downside of moving out is not being greeted by 42 kilos of happiness every evening.
I'll try and find a decent picture of Sid some time, I'm sure we have some somewhere. (I don't because my photography skills are lacking to say the least)

I just came here to post a picture of my little Pomchi, Chester, but in light of colm89's loss, I won't. Gutted for you....
