I actually really like the look of it and the fact its a mechanical Moon Phase. Good price too. Maybe 3 watches in as many days is too much to get a 4th so quickly though...

Its a cracking watch for the money but that date window is a big deal for me. The number is quite deep below the dial so you can barely read it in most lighting situations. That and it seems to be at a weird point betweeen the 4 and 5.

One other complaint is that the hands are too slender and silver to be easily legible but I suspect that is the case for most watches of this style. Things get pretty crowded when you have silver numbering, hands and plenty of subdials.

If it's not gone in a week I'll have it off you on general principle. Not the sort of thing I'd usually wear but I tihnk that's why I'd want it. But I've got enough watches so will let someone else have a bash first.

Meant to say this looks great. Was everything NOS and it was just a case of fitting it all together? I'm guessing that these were one of the original service watches predating the CWC etc?

Everything NOS except for the movement. These were issued to Army/RAF/Navy between 1967 and 1970.

My other half is fancying a new watch. She has a Braun at the minute that I bought her as a birthday gift a few years ago to try and get her into wearing a watch and she loves it so is looking to replace it. Needs to be modern looking but she's not bothered whether its quartz or mechanical, its mainly about the look. She's had a look at a few Mondaines which she quite likes. Any other suggestions?
