• Anyone have a spare 13t powertap cog I can borrow/buy? Might try and enter ThunderTrack II but it's this Sunday and I'm looking at a bit spinny.

  • Bigger chainring?

  • Could work, might have a 48t but it might also be scrap metal condition.

Currently have 46x14 as my biggest gearing.

  • wot no 57t?

  • I've got a 48t Zen you can borrow. It's worn, but not scrap.

  • I'm also a difficult pr**k, 130BCD. Finding a cog might be easier.. everyone has powertaps, right?!

  • Then just sling a road chainring on.

  • I've got a 51 and 48 both in 130bcd available. You can have either for cheap and I can post first thing tomorrow if you want.

  • Will PM later if needed, they might not let me race (because roadie) and miiiight have a 51 in a box in the loft.

  • Fuck

About to hit go on two sets of power2max rotor 3D+ cranks so I can have power on my main two bikes.

  • 13t powertap cog

You mean 13T White Industries, since Powertap only do 14/15/16. Check for compatibility with your lock ring, the standard Powertap lock ring (Wheelbuilder branded) can hit the chain if you use the 13T WI sprocket

In unrelated news, I have a 55T×⅛" 130pcd Stronglight Zicral chainring for sellz, that should be big enough

  • Only peasants (me) swap powermeters between bikes.

  • With work related links to trade accounts, i am looking at purchasing either Vector S pedals (which would be able to be switched between the Madone, CAAD10 and Track Bike) or the Quarq Riken meter, which if i'm being honest, would only go on the Madone (because of not wanting the faff of dealing with the CAAD10 BB complications...)

Do i go for versatility, or a one bike option? Since posing this question to a LBL, i was also thrown a spanner when it would appear that riding a carbon frame in a turbo voids a warranty, and this comes from Trek in this instance.....

So unsure of which option to go for - and i am certainly not in the same league as Dancing James, where two units are an option....

  • Anyone know WTF a single red blink on a powertap P1 means? Other than a general error. Manual is fucking useless. Battery is brand new

  • If there is one place I would absolutely have to have a PM it's on the turbo.

Would I drip all over a Madone or clamp it in my turbo - no.

  • This is why I have the smart turbo, it was a much cheaper way to train with power than buying a power meter, but now I want power on my road bikes too.

  • Trainer road?

If you can fit the Quarq to the Track bike, use that to get a more accurate resistance curve for your turbo, and then use the CAAD on the turbo and Quarq on the Madone.

(I have not done this and have no idea if it would actually work)

  • Don't buy vectors - they are shit.

Just go cranks-based and accept that within 2 years you will have power meters on all your bikes and be in mountains of debt.

  • I don't particularly want to hit Mallorca with a 39t so on the off chance somebody would like to shift a 110 bcd power2max type s, give me a shout. Or quarq elsa.

  • A 39x25 should get you up pretty much everything in Majorca, even if you're knackered.

  • Thanks everyone - some good info there.... and @branwen; that's solid advice!
