  • Cheers, good shout. I like the possibility of sending in your own custom template.

  • Fantastic bike! Yea its weirdly difficult to find a framebag for tall headtubed bikes. Im in the same situatiom.. be sure to post if u find anything

  • You should also weigh the bike and stuff you'll carry. Then find out the front rear ratio.

But as said before, pretty rough estimate and test ride should help you to find out easily enough.

  • Hah that graph works, my massive weight and bike comes out as running the perfect pressure, confirming 5hrs experimenting!

  • After yesterdays addition of 35mm chunky tyres I've put on a new stem with less rise. My back can handle it now. Looking forward to two weeks cycling in Cornwall starting tomoz.

  • Hurry up then, fit them racks and mudguards!

    (Edit: bike looks good!)
(Edit 2: probably bike packing I guess...)

  • Thanks man.
I just removed the mudguards for the summer (it rained the next day). Plus my mudguards wouldn't fit, they only just about work for my 28mm tyres.

The rack is gonna go on tonight, much prefer pannier to bike packing.

  • Looks very similar to my Space Horse (except a better photo). I'll have to get a decent pic of mine for here.

  • Liking this setup.

That's really nice, well done. Only thing that's missing are mud guards?

  • Yeah it really looks like it's raining a lot right there...

  • Yeah it really looks like it's raining a lot right there...

    Exactly!

    😅

  • Not sure if trolling. I've more chance of choking on dust than drowning.

  • I wasn't really thinking. Always thought you lived in the UK, where it regularly rains.

  • I live in Yorkshire, the rainiest.... but do my best to tour in warmer climes 😁 The bike may get guards at some point (maybe black VO hammered) but I only really use it for touring and the odd ride so not desperate... Also the 35c ribmo fill it quite well.

  • How is the handling with the panniers at that hight? I'm thinking of a similar set up for my croix with the spesh pizza rack.

  • Never as good as low riders, but I ran high panniers for a few years with no problems.

  • Maybe a question that has been answered before: why do you prefer putting load in the front (in stead of using rear racks and panniers)? I've been travelling by bike several times but for one or other reason never putted load on the front side of the bike...

  • It improves handling (greatly on hills) and gives you a more even weight disto.

  • Yeah I've had some super sketchy moments ascending with a lot of load over the rear wheel

  • Never had troubles with it (and climbed some veryn very steep hills in Italy with +20 kg on the back). But that's maybe because I mostly travel with a mtb (have a longer wheelbase). Last winter I packed less weight on my Carrera roadbike and that wasn't very comfy, indeed.
